A Siamese cat emerges from a bank of purple irises to visit with a turtle, who is sunning himself on a rock. Koi dart among the water lilies and reflections in the pond. Twisted maple trees and bright rhododendron provide a colorful backdrop (a mushroom-shaped stone lantern is nearly hidden in the distance). A branch of cherry blossoms completes this tranquil scene. This Asian landscape, inspired by both Hakone Japanese Gardens in Saratoga, California, and Monet, is an original acrylic painting on a gallery-wrapped stretched canvas (the 3/4" staple-free sides are finished off in brown acrylic)--no need to frame. It has been lightly varnished to protect the paint and preserve the lustrous colors. The copyright watermark does not appear on the actual painting.
If you would like the canvas fitted with picture wire, let me know at the time of purchase (no additional charge). The piece can be hung as is on one or two parallel nails but some people prefer hanging wire if the piece is going to be hung unframed.
