A little brown nightingale sings to the full moon (the Man in the Moon face shimmers mysteriously). He is sitting on a branch of cherry blossoms against a night sky in shades of purple, with a touch of blue. This piece was inspired by one of my favorite fairytales, "The Emperor and the Nightingale," with its gentle lesson on the nature of Beauty. This miniature landscape is on a gallery-wrapped stretched canvas (the sides are finished off in blue acrylic). |
