The Fading Memory of Annabel Lee

Laura Milnor Iverson

The ghost of Annabel Lee strolls up a sand dune, looking out at the dramatic night sky, a full moon shining down. She wears a white regency gown, a feather on her bonnet. This Gothic fantasy landscape, inspired by the "Annabel Lee" poem by Edgar Allan Poe and a beach in Pacifica, California, is part of the Dreamscapes series, which combines my original paintings with digital enhancements. The somber sepia tones and grunge texture give the piece a weathered, Victorian Gothic feel. The copyright watermarks on the image do not appear on the actual print.
